I really enjoyed this .. not quite a two thumbs up film, but definitely in my "Glad it was on a Big Screen".  We got a great turnout, and everyone else knew I'd be looking at the clotheses.

This is such a brilliantly done mockumentary, that you have to remind yourself that it IS a film, and not a doco.  To quote Kenny "It's as silly as a bum full of smarties."  Who knew dunnies could be so funny.  Well deserved it's AFI nominations & win.

I enjoyed this so much more than I ever expected to.  Worth seeing on the big screen, but not full price.  I know, there was so much Hype for Thank You for Smoking that I'll probably be shot down for that opinion.

Naturally any film that references goldfish has my friends all turn and look at me on cue (anyone else remember the $8000 koi in the pond ( Read more... )

Nacho Libre is the silliest movie that I've ever seen that I thoroughly enjoyed (as did the Tax Man).  It was so bad it was good.  Jack Black's fancy pants powder blue outfit reminded me sooo much of Elvis in films. And I've avoided Elvis movies like the plague, so how do I get ( Read more... )

I loved Hoodwinked, and was really startled when I found out that CrazyCatLady didn't come along cos she didn't want something bad to happen to Grandma.  Well she didn't have my evil granmonster (believe me tales that would curl your hair), and in the end Granny was a kick ass extreme sportsmaniac.

Tuesday was a repeat viewing as I'd seen it earlier with another friend.

This I enjoyed and was satisfied by.  Startled crazycatlady when I said that I really identified with Jane (Francis McDormand's character).  How could she not spot this before now.

Only 2 of us made it to Renaissance which was a shame.  I found myself thinking of Sin City, and how the occasional flash of colour really added to it, and how this film could have done with a very very rare colour spot.
